On the vintage market it is one of the best-value LV pieces you can buy: a bag that retails new for over $2,000 can be found in beautiful vintage condition for a fraction of that. Here is how to choose between the four sizes.
The sizes compared
- Keepall 45 — 45 × 27 × 20 cm. The only Keepall that comfortably meets most airline carry-on rules. Perfect for one-night trips and gym use.
- Keepall 50 — 50 × 29 × 22 cm. The sweet spot: two to three days of clothes, still manageable on a train or in an overhead bin.
- Keepall 55 — 55 × 31 × 24 cm. A true weekender for three to four days. The most popular vintage size.
- Keepall 60 — 60 × 33 × 26 cm. The largest — nearly a suitcase. Ideal for longer trips if you check luggage or travel by car.
Bandoulière or not?
“Bandoulière” versions (like the M41416) come with rings and a removable shoulder strap — handy when the bag is fully loaded. Strapless versions are slightly cheaper and cleaner-looking. If you buy a vintage strapless Keepall, any vachetta strap can be added later.
What vintage Keepalls cost

Condition checklist for a vintage Keepall
- Corners: look for wear-through on the canvas corners
- Vachetta: even honey patina is normal and beautiful; deep cracks are not
- Interior: older linings can be sticky — we always photograph and describe this
